Tumblr

Tumblr is a social networking website that allows users to post multimedia to a short-form blog. Users are able to make their blog private and follow other blogs. David Karp and Marco Arment began working on a tumblelogging platform, and in February 2007 Tumblr was launched. Within only two weeks the service gained 75,000 users, and as of May 19, 2013 it has over 108 million blogs. Tumblr is more popular with the teen/college age users and half of the visitor base is under 25 years old.

Tumblr has many features that allow you to manage your blog such as, dashboard, queue, tags, HTML editing. The dashboard is where live feed of recent post from blogs followed will appear. This is also where users can comment, reblog, and like posts. This is also where the user will upload posts, videos, images, links or quotes. Blogs can be connected to Twitter or Facebook whenever something is posted it will send a tweet or status update. Queue is a feature that allows the user to set up a schedule to delay posts that they make, whether its hours or days. By adding tags for each post it allows any user find posts about certain topics. HTML editing is done to control the appearance of their blog along with creating a custom domain for their blog.
